What Google’s New “What Customers Love” Section Means for Your Website

This month, Google has begun testing a new feature on its Search platform: “What Customers Love.” Similar to its AI meta descriptions, the section includes AI-generated summaries and snippets of customer reviews under each business. The roll out is currently limited to select customers. Google has yet to comment on its release. In our latest blog, we took a look at the new feature, along with what it could mean for your business. (Hint: it could go two ways.) Read more below!

What is Google’s New “What Customers Love” Section?

In recent years, Google has been betting big on AI. The Silicon Valley-based company has continued to integrate artificial intelligence into its platforms, including Gmail, YouTube, and Search. Earlier this year, Google began testing AI-generated summaries on Google Ads & store ratings. With “Customers Love,” Google taps AI once again to improve its user experience. The new section features an AI-generated summarization that includes both positive and negative reviews. In a screenshot posted online for an eye care clinic, the AI-generated summary noted that, while the business had “gorgeous templates and smooth set-up process,” it lacked “system stability and raised a need for advanced technology.”

How Will Google’s New “What Customers Love” Section Affect Your Website?

It could help or hurt your business. In 2025, when Google introduced its “AI rewriting tool,” which had artificial intelligence rewrite business’ headlines and meta descriptions, many users were concerned that AI would hallucinate and incorrectly summarize its business services. With “What Customers Love,” this same concern is relevant. The new tool could potentially take reviews from a business that also shares the same name as your own, leaving you with an incorrect “customer rating” summarization. It could also include customer ratings that dishonestly review your business.

But if the tool successfully summarizes your business’s reviews (granting that your business is in good standing with its customers), it may be able to help your AI visibility.  Only time will tell.
