Yesterday it was confirmed by Google’s Gary Illyes that Google’s Panda 4.2 update is, in fact still rolling out after nearly 2 ½ months. Panda 4.2, Google algorithm update that starting rolling out around July 18th, is designed to lower the rank of “low-quality” websites. When Google first rolled out Panda 4.2 they made it clear that this algorithm would slowly roll out over several months. Seeing as it has been less than 3 months since the start of the roll out it is expected to continue for a few more months. With Google on the record that Panda 4.2 is still rolling out, Gary Illyes confirms that we can expect it to continue for a couple of months.
The slow rollout may make it harder to notice if you are being hit with a penalty as your ranking may not drop drastically but rather seeing a slight gradual decline. So continue to keep your eyes on your website for any drops in traffic as you may still be affected by the Panda 4.2 update.
