GoDaddy is the world’s largest domain registrar and a very user-friendly source. Recently, however, the company has embarked down a different avenue, advertising its new marketing option called Get Found. If you already engage in SEO practices, you know the importance of listing work and establishing your company or brand’s name across these various sites. We obviously prefer free listings, as the less cost you need to spend on your efforts for increasing online exposure, the better.
Get Found was designed to help businesses ensure that their information was published across all important search engines, social media and local sites. GoDaddy will complete this process for you, but the catch is that you must pay for it. It is certainly helpful having this completed for you and ultimately achieving greater visibility, but you could also do this without GoDaddy, for free. One rather helpful and conveniently free feature, however, is offered on their website and allows you to find a break down of your current online visibility across these different outlets. By simply entering your business name, GoDaddy can generate a detailed summary of where you are currently listed and have exposure, any information you are missing on each specific site, and where you have no visibility whatsoever. This can be a great tool to use in order to confirm that you have not left out any important areas online for which you could be attracting potential new business.
So, while the cost associated with this new marketing tool is less appealing, the ability to quickly generate a report that will allow you to discover any sites, social media networks or search engines that you have neglected, is in fact quite helpful. It will be interesting to see if this new tool is successful, or if the majority of customers remain interested solely in GoDaddy’s original and fundamental services.
