On October 6, Matt Cutts, head of Google’s search spam, tweeted that Google will not be pushing for another Toolbar PageRank update this year.
The last Google Toolbar PageRank Update was on February 4, 2013, making it 8 months since the last update.
Some people even believe that there will never be another toolbar update ever; while others believe Google will release one more update next year, and then let it slowly phase out.
Here is Matt’s Tweet from a couple days ago:
Over the last couple of years, support for PageRank has dropped dramatically. Google never offered a Google Toolbar for Chrome or any other add-ons to show PageRank values. In June 2011 they dropped the Toolbar for Firefox.
There you have it; don’t expect another Toolbar PageRank in 2013!
