User experience, while not one of the main forms of SEO focus, actually has quite an effect on many different parts of your SEO Strategy. While we typically focus on content, as well as links, it is still always going to be important to have a good user experience. What can it have an effect on? Let’s take a look at just a few of these things.
Bounce Rate: Bounce rates are extremely interesting in that they are a tell-tale factor of something having gone wrong. While they are not the biggest issue, a high bounce rate can tell you many things, including the fact that your content isn’t high enough on the page, or that it is not of a good quality. Moving content up on the page above the fold is a good test to do, as it can increase the user experience of not having to scroll down to get information on what they want.
Conversions: By having the contact form on every page of the site, you are more likely to get conversions. This being said, you will want to have it above the fold, in something like a sidebar, which will make it much easier for the user to convert.
Pages/Session Increase: You may have noticed the pages/session on your website going down, and one of the things you can do is add a lot of internal linking to the site, which makes it easier for the users to go from page to page.
While optimization is not all about aesthetics, it does have a bit of an effect on SEO, as it can be something that can truly make a difference. While people may also go to your website and notice, “wow this looks great”, the content is going to be one of the things that they look at to convert, as it will be the thing that retains the customer after they are acquired by the aesthetic. Similarly, if a competitor has a nicer looking website, people may go to them instead, creating problems for your business. Contact us for help with the set up of your website today.
