Yahoo’s Gemini ad platform created by Yahoo that combines Mobile Search Ads with Native Ads. This platform allows advertisers to buy, manage and optimize their mobile search and native ad spend under one platform. The movement to mobile ads has seen a great increase over the years and it comes as no surprise that Yahoo has made this move to cater to mobile ads. Gemini works like Adwords, by allowing you to set a budget for your campaign and choose where and when your ads show.
What Are Native Ads?
Native advertising is a way for your content ads to be disguised and look and match the content that it is appearing on. If these ads are being made to look like the content we are reading, the question is, do they work? According to a study by Sharethrough, – “readers are more likely to pay attention to marketing messages that resemble the content around them” the study found that “subjects were 25% more likely to look at a native ad than they were at a banner, and they looked at them 53% more frequently.”
Where Does Your Ad Appear?
If you decide to use Gemini, your ad will be seen through Yahoo’s mobile search network and Yahoo’s partner sites. People will see your ads where they read the news and check email across desktops, tablets, and phones.
Is Gemini Part of The Bing Network?
Even though Yahoo Ads and Bing Ads recently came to an agreement to allow ads to appear on both search network, Gemini is a separate platform. The Gemini platform is rendering your ad based on the content the customer is using. These ads will be shown in mobile search ads on phones and tablets throughout Yahoo and Yahoo partner sites but not through the Bing Search Network.
