What are Plus+Codes?

Today on Google Plus it was announced that Google Maps will be able to now support places without an address. Google will list the places with location codes, also known as plus codes. Anyone from anywhere can use them for free. Plus+Codes are short codes made up of six or seven letters and numbers for locations.

This new feature is for locations that do not have their own street address or building number but still wants Google Maps to know that they have a legitimate business place in an area. Open location codes are useful for local businesses that don’t have a good addressing scheme set up near them. Now their clients or potential customers can find them and see the general area their business is in. To learn more about this new Google Maps feature go to https://plus.codes/
