4 Tips to Help Increase the Conversion Rate on Your Website

Conversion rate is the most important part of your business’s online presence, as it is what leads to potential sales. There are a lot of variables that go into the equation that is conversion, as it is complex. It is complex in the sense that you, as the marketer, need to try to present your information in a way that is pleasing to the audience of your choosing. Here are some of the things to focus on when looking to increase conversion rates for your company.

1. Add a Pop-Up to Your Website

Adding a pop-up is one of the best things you can do to increase your conversion rate. Adding a pop-up gives the users visiting your site a reminder of what you can offer them! The best way to see what type of pop-up works best on your website is by trial and error. Try different pop-ups that include premium content, products you offer, specials you’re having, etc., and see which one performs the best.

Some users tend to get annoyed by pop-ups but there are ways to make them less annoying. Set your pop-up to launch about 20 seconds after the user gets onto your website. This will make it less aggressive than if it were to pop-up as soon as someone visits your website. You should also make it easy to close the pop-up. Make sure there is a clear exit button so people don’t get frustrated trying to close the pop-up and end up clicking out of your whole site. Lastly, set a cookie so the pop-up only appears once per user.

2. Add Call to Actions

Call to actions are simple in that they essentially persuade the customer to click, or do what you want them to do. It is a bit difficult to gauge exactly what makes people click, but that is where testing comes in handy.

Add as many call to actions to your website as possible without it being overwhelming. You can add call to actions in your meta descriptions, blog posts, service pages, etc.! Another great way to add call to actions to your website is by adding in buttons. Adding in a button saying exactly what you want people to do makes it extremely easy for them to click it and convert.

3. Have Clickable Contact Information

Clickable contact information is crucial. The fewer steps that it takes for the customer to convert, the more likely they actually will convert. Because of this, being able to click on a phone number or email address right away is essential to any SEO strategy. Alongside this, it is never a bad idea to make the header, footer, and contact page information clickable as well.

4. Add Live Chat to Your Website

Obviously, if a user is on your website they are interested in something you have to offer. Many visitors may be on the fence as to whether or not they want or need your services or products. They may have a lingering doubt or question that is keeping them from taking that last step to convert. Live chats on your website are perfect for helping these individuals. Similar to a pop-up, live chat tools are easy to add to your website and greatly help with your conversions.
