Should My Business Be On Angie’s List?

Angie’s List is like any other review site, but probably with a bit more sway. It’s a huge site and a lot of people use it. There are two main points you need to think about before putting your business on Angie’s List.

  1. Do you have the right type of business? Angie’s List serves specific sorts of businesses, most notably home repair/renovation, healthcare, and home services field.
  2. Do you provide quality to your customers? I know this sounds ridiculous, but you have to think about this before going onto a review site. If you have a significant amount of unsatisfied customers, the poor reviews will only hurt your business. Similar to Yelp, customers tend to write reviews when they’re upset or unsatisfied rather than when they’re happy. If you can encourage your happy customers to give you good reviews, and if you think your business always provides great quality work, then you should be fine.

Angie’s List will potentially provide your business another tool to reach customers. It can be useful, although its probably not going to change everything. Think of Angie’s List as just another tool in your marketing toolbox. The best way to market yourself online is to take a holistic, robust, and well rounded approach to all marketing opportunities.
