Search Continues to Lead Internet Advertising Spend

This week, the IAB released the Internet Advertising Revenue Report, which breaks down where advertising dollars were spent for online advertising in the first half of 2015. Desktop search took the lion’s share, accounting for 37%, or $10.1 billion, of advertising revenue in the first half of 2015. With mobile search revenue included, the total amounts to $13.7 billion.

The share of desktop search has decreased from the first half of 2014 to the first half of 2015. However, mobile spend (of which search takes up a large portion) has increased in this time, from 23% to 30%. For a close look at the IAB report, see the entire document here.
