2016 will be a big year for Public Relations. Often used as an after-thought for marketing campaigns, it is now becoming more beneficial to use PR throughout your entire campaign.
In order to stay ahead of your competitors, you must follow these PR trends in 2016:
- The traditional press release no longer exists. Submitting a press release to media outlets is no longer relevant in this digital age. Take advantage of social media to gain the attention of others to spread your message.
- Online reputation is, and will always be, important. When your audience goes online to research your business and who you are as a whole, you want to make sure that what they find is positive, and the truth. To better manage your online reputation and get your message to the right audiences, it’s important to consistently create and publish quality content.
- Quality over quantity. Brands and company leaders are spending a significant amount of money to gain the attention of followers who aren’t guaranteed to actually be interested in your brand. You should never buy likes or ask for like-backs. Focus on developing a network and building influence among a targeted, valuable audience and social following, rather than riding the coat tails of a more established brand than your own.
