Pinterest, much like Facebook, is looking to improve their search tool; to make this a possibility, Pinterest has beefed up their VisualGraph tool. They have teamed up with the company, VisualGraph, to improve their search query and discovery on its website and mobile apps.
Representatives from the social media titan, said that this new acquisition will help improve technology to better understand what people are pinning; this will help people find the things they are interested in more quickly and efficiently.
VisualGraph uses technology that helps connect images through features like face recognition, object recognition, and color/shape analysis.
This visual search platform will also help make recommendations for users, which is a feature that Pinterest is greatly interested in.
Social media sites, like Pinterest, are improving their sites to help users easily navigate and find what they are looking for. When users are able to find what they are looking for in a quick and easy manner, they will be more likely to return to that site in the future. Be on the lookout for Pinterest to team up with VisualGraph in the very near future!
