With Thanksgiving and Black Friday in the rearview mirror, the Holiday season is in full swing heading into the first week of December. In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Hanukah, etc., consumers will be spending a lot of time shopping online for gifts for their family and friends, purchasing Holiday decorations and also cleaver new food ideas to eat while the Family is around. If your business offers products or services relevant to the Holiday season, now is the time to start promoting using your Social Media networks.
Here are a few suggestions to take into consideration throughout the remainder of December:
Use a Holiday themed Cover Photo: This is a very simple and easy way to make an impact on Facebook and Google+. Users want to see that you are being active on your pages and that your page has a “personality”.
Offer Holiday Coupons and Gift Certificates: Keep old followers returning and get new potential customers to visit and like your page by promoting on your Social Media pages. If your budget allows it, offer a $10 off coupon for a specific Holiday item to not only help draw people to your page, but to also drive sales. If you can’t afford coupons, at least offer Gift Certificates through your Social Media pages. Gift Certificates make it easy for consumers to spend money at your business because they don’t have to worry about finding the perfect gift for someone. It also works as a form of marketing because the recipient of the Gift Certificate may not have known about your business until now. They may even begin to follow your pages to hear about new deals.
The Season of Giving: Run some sort of Holiday contest on your Social Media pages that reward the most active followers with a free gift. Not only will this make some people happy, but it increases activity on your Social Media pages. Also try doing something in the community to show your support or donating money. Even incorporate it into your Social Media with something like “for every like we get on this status, we will donate $1 to (blank) charity”
These are just a few suggestions to try to utilize your Social Media pages in your favor, but there are many other ways like doing a countdown to build up anticipation or taking employee photos wearing ugly Holiday sweaters. Be creative and unique and your business will benefit from it! Happy Holidays!
