Back in April, Google’s Mobile-Friendly Algorithm rolled out after sending thousands of companies in a state of panic making the necessary changes to their websites. It’s been months now and there are still websites that aren’t meeting the Mobile-Friendly Algorithm.
Recently, Moovweb followed 1,000 significant e-commerce keywords for a variety of industries to see if their mobile rankings on Google were affected. The company discovered that 83% of the time, the top result was mobile friendly and that 81% of the time, the top three results were as well. 77% of results were mobile friendly on page one of the Google mobile SERPs.
These results spark the question, “Why is Google showing non-mobile-friendly websites in that 20%?” Moovweb has documented various industries and found that retail had the most mobile-friendly results, while transportation had the lowest.
If your company hasn’t met the mobile-friendly update, you should make any necessary changes immediately. By doing so, you’ll not only comply with Google’s Algorithm, but you’ll be providing mobile users with a better, easier experience!
