LinkedIn is making some major changes to its desktop site in order to increase engagement and emphasize content and conversations.
The new desktop site’s navigation will focus on seven “core” areas:
- Home (your feed)
- My Network
A messaging system will be set up (very similar to Facebook’s messenger) that will allow you to stay connected no matter where you are on the site.
LinkedIn has a plan to add new ways to follow topics and trending stories. They are also coming up with a combination of algorithms to help you find the most pertinent content and people who matter to you.
No matter what you search for on LinkedIn, they are promising major improvements to the appearance and relevance of search results.
LinkedIn will now show information on who reads and engages with the content you share. It will show their company, job title, and job location.
To make your profile more engaging and appealing to users, LinkedIn will begin to suggest things to add to your profile to make it stronger and stand out.
