LinkedIn has recently announced that they will retire the Products & Services feature from the LinkedIn Company Pages. This change was announce on March 14th, 2014 and will take effect on April 14th, 2014, giving business owners a month to make changes. For the most part, action is not required from the business owner, however, if you have Products & Services Recommendations you would like to recover and retain, you can recover by copying the information into your own document. LinkedIn also sent out an email regarding this and you can download a copy of the Recommendation by clicking a link from within that email.
LinkedIn recommends putting this information in your Company Updates or Showcase Pages. Showcase Pages can extend your Company Page presence by dedicating a page for the products and services you would like to feature. A Showcase Page is good for building long-term relationships with members who want to follow certain parts of your company, but not for short-term marketing campaigns.
Company Updates are great for building relationships with your followers so when they engage with your updates, it will share your update to all of connections in their networks. This allows for exponential reach with the more engagement you have. Your Company Updates will be seen by your followers in their newsfeed, rather than having to go to your company page.
If you would like to make any further to your Products & Services prior to April 14th, you are able to make edits to existing Products & Services, but you will not be able to add new ones. Once April 15th comes, all Products & Services will be gone for good.
