Is Yahoo Making a Comeback?

Upon reaching a deal with Fire Fox, Yahoo saw a huge increase in their searches; Yahoo may be too far behind to catch Google & Bing, but they are still fighting to stay relevant in searches!

In November, Yahoo announced that they were replacing Google as the default search engine for the new version of Fire Fox; Fire Fox 34.

Reports have shown that since the launch of Fire Fox’s newest version, Yahoo search has been used three times more on Fire Fox 33.

Yahoo searches on this browser have increased from 9.6% to 29.4%; comparatively, Google has dropped down to 63% on the newest version of Fire Fox! Bing’s searches on Fire Fox went from 6.45% to 5.81% Google is still the search engine to beat, but jumping from 9.5 to 29.4% is a huge increase, and a huge confidence builder for Yahoo!

Yahoo, still has a long way to go before it ever passes Google, or even Bing, as the most used search engine in the U.S. However, teaming up with Fire Fox was a great decision, and if this trend continues, Yahoo is looking at millions of additional monthly queries, so don’t sleep on Yahoo just yet!
