It was announced late last week that the Google app for iOS is now faster. The new update to the Google app now features a faster loading time along with new features that are designed to help users save time and arrive at their desired information more quickly. It is estimated that the quicker load time will save users a combined total of 6.5 million hours this year.
Early implications for AMP Pages
In relation to Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), the new update to the Google App on iOS will now allow users to view AMP pages on mobile or tablet devices. For users who are accustomed to reading news articles on desktop, they will be familiar with the same experience now accessible for iOS devices.
Added functionality to Google Now Cards
In addition to the quicker load speeds of the Google App and the availability of AMP pages on iOS, Google has also updated their Google Now feature by adding sports highlights of your favorite team in Google Now cards.
