You get a new website, or start to add content or make tweaks to your existing website, but when will you start seeing traffic? Obviously, you want to be #1 on Google and other search engine’s results, but when in reality can you expect to be there? SEO does take time so we like to think of it as a marathon, not a sprint. And there really is no magic way to get there.
When will SEO start to slow traffic?
This answer depends on your market. Let’s say you are the first landscaper in your city and you have zero competition so that when people are searching “landscaping near me” you are the only option & they find your website. Your SEO will start to show traffic immediately. On the flip side to that, if you are in a very competitive market it will take longer for you to show up on search results. And you will also have to do more work consistently to get there.
How can you get more traffic faster?
There are things you can do which can help your chances, but again, it’s not like you turn on a light switch and then automatically you get traffic and people on your website. Content is huge and plays a big part because that’s how search engines can read your website. If your website’s content is lacking then that’s a great first step.
Adding content consistently will help your traffic the most. You can also connect social media to your website, and post to social to try and get more customers that way. Then lead them back to your website.
SEO takes time
SEO is not going to work overnight but if you stick with it, it will be beneficial to your website and your business. Your traffic will come and your website will start to get more authority on search engines which will also help. It’s important to stick to your plan even if you don’t see results right away. But if you stop, that’s when your competition really pulls ahead.
