Google will be adding their own ride sharing tab into Google Maps next to the other transportation options. As if cab companies haven’t had enough trouble, it looks like they may have there backs against the wall again. With the integration of the ride sharing tab, users can see whether it’s faster to jump on a local bus, walk, take the train or take a ride sharing cab all from their Google Maps screen.
While Uber is already a provider of Google, additional international providers now include “99Taxis in Brazil, Ola Cabsin India, Hailo in the UK and Spain, mytaxi in Germany and Spain, and Gett in the UK.” As well as showing the ride sharing estimated times, if you have the providers app already installed, you can see ride fare estimates and pickup times if a car is near you. Simply click on the service, and Google will then take you right to the app to book your trip.

Some of the recent changes between the two start with Google rolling out an iOS update and Apple Maps creating their own version of “Street View”.
Within the coming days, Google will be rolling out this functionality to Andriod users and very soon after to iOS users.
