This past week on March 28th, 2016 Google updated their search quality rating guidelines. This update is the first published update to the public since Google released the document four months ago. When the full version of the quality rater document was released in November, it had 160 pages but now the revised version is only 146 pages. Some changes that were made to the guideline happened this past week. Here is a bullet list of details that Google has changed:
- De-emphasis of supplementary content
- Emphasis on local, which Google changed the name to “Visit-In-Person”
- More emphasis on the role of Your Money Your Life and E-A-T (Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness)
- Mobile is still very important and Google gave more mobile examples to follow
It’s important to follow these new guideline changes and practice white hat SEO to get higher rankings on Google.
