In the seemingly ever changing search results page of Google, there are reports that Google is experimenting with website posts being seen on their front page. Different from regular pages being indexed, these posts may include a much more noticeable section that includes the business name, a featured image and description. With a stream of website posts accessible, a simple click of the post then brings you to a Google page with the content. (Not the website post page)
This is an extension of the feature that launched last month which allowed for presidential candidates to have their specific messages be placed on the front page of Google.
This unique tool will first be rolled out to small businesses, then followed by larger brands & celebrities. The posts being shown are very obvious and compelling on the eye. We can only expect these posts will receive a high number of clicks. To see an example of how this looks, check out the screenshot we took below:
The main search results page is always changing from possible click to call being incorporated in organic search to ads being removed from the sidebar within the past few weeks. This will be very interesting to follow as time goes on and it may end up being a very valuable online marketing tactic for businesses.
