Google Penalizes Mobile Sites Using Shady Redirects

People have taken notice that Google has taken action on mobile sites that have been tricking users into being redirected to unwanted sites from the search results page on their mobile devices. Last year, Google has told webmasters not to take this type of action with their mobile users, and recently has announced on Twitter and Google Plus that they will be taking action on sites that sneakily redirect mobile users to spammy domains. Google has penalized mobile sites for directing the user to a site that they weren’t expecting from the search results whether it’s on a desktop or mobile phone. Google just wants the user to land on a site they expect to see based off of what the Google snippet says. If your site has been affected, read the Help Center article on detecting and getting rid of deceptive mobile redirects.
