Google had previously announced the launch date of Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) to be on Feb. 24, 2016. To everyone’s surprise, the AMP Project rolled out a day early.
Accelerated Mobile Pages aim to significantly improve the performance of the mobile web. Essentially, these AMP pages are light-weight webpages that can be optimized once and load instantly anywhere . If you’d like to check if you have the AMP search results, simply do a Google search for a query that triggers a news box.
