Google is currently testing rich snippets in the form of “In-Depth Articles”. This was recently discovered by Dr. Peter Meyers, the Marketing Scientist at Moz. It appears that Google is thinking about including in depth articles in search results from reputable sources like The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
This will be excellent for journalist and encourage people to verify authorship for their sites. It will also be interesting to see if Google will pull in only positive articles or include negative results as well.
If this new type of search result is adopted, it will also be interesting to see how it will progress. Will in-depth twitter posts (over 150 characters) be included as well? We’ll have to wait and see.
