Google Chrome Begins Testing Themed Search Suggestions

Chrome has recently been reported to have begun testing on themed search suggestions. What this essentially does is show your most recent search below the query bar and then gives some alternative suggestions. Let’s take a look at some of the reasons why this may be revolutionary in regards to web browsers.

Unique

As one of the only browsers to do this, Google Chrome has a huge opportunity in front of them. This is one of the newer ways that they will be working towards becoming more user-friendly. Similarly, Google just released a new feature on mobile devices where they now do not make you go to the second page to search for more results, but instead, there is a button that literally says “More Results”, where you can click and it automatically loads more results without bringing you to another page.

User Experience

User experience is crucial for Google. They do everything in their power to ensure that their users have the best experience possible. This is definitely why they have begun testing these items. If you think about it, you may go into Chrome, and search something. From there, you may not necessarily find what you are looking for right away. If you do not find what you are looking for, you may search for something else, or walk away from your computer for a bit and then return looking for answers. When they reopen the browser, there will be a few different options of what they can search for, meaning that the user is happier because the chances of them finding the answer they wanted is very much increased.

Targeted Results

With many different options for similar queries, the results will be more highly targeted towards what the user wants. The more targeted the results, the happier we will be seeing users.
