Quality Score for keywords will now be reported differently in Adwords, according to a recent announcement from Google.
Google has made it clear that it will not impact ads, rankings or CPCs directly. The new reporting change will only be on the front-end and will not impact the ranking algorithm of your ads in Adwords. With this adjustment, ads with zero impressions will default to a quality score of 6. Once Google receives more data, the default quality score will be updated within a day or two later.
Google goes on to explain the reason for this update:
“Behind the scenes, this change will allow us to simplify some of our core systems, letting us focus our attention on improving reporting accuracy for keywords with traffic.”
