Late last week, Google Adwords created a new ad type that would enable mobile ads that only feature a click to call option, with no website link. While mobile ads already feature the call extension option, this “Call Only” ad type would be made in the Ad creation stage. Clicking on the ad will only result in a phone number being brought up on your mobile device. Although there will still be a display URL in the ad, this will just be to show the user who they are calling, and will not bring them to a website. Call-only ads will charge per click just like any other ad, and no phone call needs to actually be placed in order for the click to be registered.
