With the holiday season right around the corner, traffic from mobile shopping is predicted to be the highest it’s ever been. Google predicts that mobile shopping searches will increase nearly 3.5% from last holiday season. To take advantage of this sudden growth, Google Shopping will now be providing a more detailed list of information about the product on mobile devices.
When users search for a specific product on either their mobile phone or tablet, there will likely be a “See More” arrow below the shopping ad. Once you click on the arrow it will provide some basic information about the product such as what retailers are selling the product online, available stores located close to you, and customer reviews.
Some of features include a 360 degree view on your mobile device as well as the description of what is included with the product.
Google’s aim is to drive traffic from mobile products directly to Google Shopping for the holiday season and into the future. With the rise of mobile search volume retailers should adjust their listings to ensure their products are set up properly for Google Shopping. Furthermore, Google is finally expanding their Local Inventory Ads to tablets and eventually to all devices from mobile to PC.
