Google Adds Fun Quick Facts to Maps

Google maps is making some fun additions to make searches even more informative all in one search. Now in addition to getting the location of your destination you can get a Quick Fact about it! Below is a screen shot of a search for the famous Italian district of Boston, the North End.

Google is pulling these facts from Wikipedia and other data sources used to power Google’s Knowledge Graph, a knowledge base used by Google to understand facts about people, places and things to get people closer to the answers they are looking for not just links.

Here is another example of Quick Facts working for the John Hancock building in Boston’s Back Bay area.
