iOS 11 was first introduced a couple months ago at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2017. With the recent release of iPhone 8 and the upcoming iPhone X, the new iPhone Operating System introduces many new features and characteristics. Now that mobile design has become increasingly important to any digital product, let’s take a look at the changes and adjustments of iOS 11 (and the new iPhones) that could potentially impact the future of email marketing on Apple devices.
Same width on the new iPhone
Not exactly a change. However, it’s important to keep in mind that the new iPhone 8 and iPhone X will have the same width as the current devices. This makes email marketers job so much easier as you don’t have to revamp your design campaign totally as you used to. Working on redesigning certain elements could be nerve-wracking and tedious, and the same width will help to save you time to work on other aspects of your campaigns.
iPhone 8 Plus increases screen’s length
While the width remains the same on both iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, the Plus version will have a longer screen. Remember when marketing designers should always keep things “above the fold.” Well this update will make their job much easier since there will be more space above the fold. There is more room for designers to play with, but make sure that your “call to action” is still straightforward and intuitive.
Better display resolution
Screen’s display quality has been tremendously improving over the years. With the new iPhones, Apple is stepping up their game with even better image quality. This leads to a better demonstration of the products, and creative professionals really should take advantage of it.
New Apple Mail interface
Instead of seven emails, the new Apple Mail on iOS 11 will allow eight emails to appear on the screen. This provides more opportunities for email marketers to catch your customers’ eyes and convert more leads. Just always make sure to name your email subject in the most effective manners.
