Facebook post targeting is a fairly new feature for Facebook Business pages that allow you to target your posts so that they show up in newsfeeds of the most relevant audience. This is a little different than limiting your post’s audience because it will not affect who can see it on your page.
You can use a number of different filters for your targeting like gender, relationship status, educational status, interested in, age, location and language. Be cautious because Facebook filters these based on the information people have filled out in their own profiles so if you have followers that don’t have their profile completely filled out, they will not see your posts.
This tool is useful for connecting with segments of your audience.
If you have targeting available on your post, you’ll see the cross-hairs icon in your status area. To start narrowing your target, just click on it and then click Add Targeting.
