Book lovers and local library fans rejoice! Google has announced a new search feature that will make it a breeze for users to discover the books that are available at their local libraries. According to a tweet from Google on September 18th, search results will now display library offerings along with books from brick and motor retailers and eCommerce platforms.
The feature is currently working on desktop, mobile, and tablet devices. On mobile search results it will be displayed as below. You can choose the library you want to rent it from depending on where you are located. When you choose the library, you will be redirected to the login page to the individual library.
This is just the latest advancement Google has made (in the last few months Google added job postings to search results) as it relates to creating the best search experience for its users. By adding local library offerings in the SERP’s Google is making it easier for the searchers to get to their intended destination.
Enjoy your reading searchers!
