Duck Duck Go, the privacy search engine, has reported strong growth throughout 2015. They have seen a steady climb throughout this past year with the average daily searches climbing from 7.7 million in January 2015 to 10.8 million in December 2015. Duck Duck Go ended the year on a high note generating more than 300 million search queries during the last month of the year and reaching a single day high of 12 million on December 14 2015.
Although Duck Duck Go may be new to many people, in 2015 they celebrated their seventh year of service. Since 2011, Duck Duck Go has seen a steady rate of growth in searches with a sharp increase in 2015. And they show no signs of slowing down in the coming years. Duck Duck Go’s plans for 2016 include adding time and date filters to search results, improving the “Did you mean” feature and making it easier for developers to contribute. Duck Duck Go says they “plan to continue to strive for more respect of privacy on the internet, instilling trust in our services and supporting initiatives that protect the interests of users around the world”.
