The word is that sometime in the first half of 2015, Twitter will allow users to add native video to their tweets, but there is no officially confirmed date yet. Native videos for advertisers are those videos that are just … there. They appear along with the other content as a natural part of the information shared. Twitter product Vice President, Kevin Weil, had this to say,
“But aside from just watching video more easily on Twitter, you should be able to record, edit and share your own videos natively on Twitter too. Alongside short looping Vine videos, we think you’ll have fun sharing what’s happening in your world through native video. You can expect to see this in the first half of next year.”
Time will tell.
