Bing Ads Now Displays Twitter Followers in Ads

This new social annotation features Twitter follower counts in ads both on a desktop and tablet, it is unclear however if this extension is selected by advertiser or automated. This Twitter annotation feature appears below the title and URL of the ad unit in search results. For those who are utilizing ratings, it will appear on the right side of the ratings. This is a resemblance to Google’s social annotations that displays an advertiser’s Google+ followers.

Bing and Twitter have had a steady partnership dating back to 2009 and recently signed a deal with Bing to display Twitter data that includes tweets in their Bing search results. This is something Google hasn’t been able to do effectively.
